NEREIDES – Photography exhibition by Loukia Hadjiyianni

nOise presents a solo exhibition of analogue photography by Loukia Hadjiyianni with the title “Nereides”. This is a selection of black and white analogue photographs by the young Cypriot artist focusing on the female body placed within the Cypriot sea landscape. The exhibition is an exploration of the female gaze, femininity, and the human body.
Loukia Hadjiyianni has recently returned from the Netherlands, where she studied Neuroscience. Inspired by the culture and the history of the centre of the old town of Nicosia, she created her own dark room and began developing her photographs there. “Nereids” marks her first solo exhibition and her decision to delve deeper into the field of photography.
nOise is a new artistic space that showcases the work of contemporary Cypriot photographers. Digital photo prints, dark room prints, postcards as well as books on photography are available there. This is the first solo exhibition hosted at nOise, since its recent opening in April 2021.
