OEDIPUS TYRANT by SOPHOCLES

Continuing the tradition of presenting plays from ancient Greek drama, THOCpresents Sophocles’ leading tragedy Oedipus Tyrannus, which continues to exert an irresistible fascination with its irresistible poetry, high technique, and profound content.
 
The city of Thebes is sick. So is Oedipus, even if he doesn’t know it yet. He promises, before the citizens who have come to him, to provide a solution to rid them of the plague that is wiping them out. His intention is to enlighten, but the truth is hidden in grey areas and unenlightened regions. Each initiative brings him one step closer to his downfall.
 
Saviour and miasmatic, intelligent ruler but also his father’s murderer, a man of political conscience and defender of the interests of his afflicted people, but also an inadvertent incestuous. Who is Oedipus really?
