The initiative “One million trees throughout Cyprus” participates in the Christmas Village of Kakopetria and gives the opportunity to all interested parties to receive free saplings and to make their homes and neighborhoods greener. Since the announcement of the initiative in April 2021, more than 65,000 tree saplings have been planted so far by volunteers, organized groups, Communities and Municipalities. The program is funded by the Democratic Rally in collaboration with the Department of Forests and other agencies.
